Director of Operations

T. Martin, M.Ed., CESP,  Director of Operations, brings extensive experience and expertise to Shines Support. With a diverse background in developmental disability support, she has held various roles that have shaped her understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Her journey began as a residential advisor, providing support and guidance in a residential setting. 

Ms. Martin's passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in education, where she created inclusive learning environments for students with disabilities as a teacher. 

Outside the classroom, Ms. Martin has organized and facilitated recreational activities as a program assistant and Camp Program Coordinator for Children with Disabilities, ensuring inclusivity and support for every child. 

Recognizing the impact of family dynamics, Ms. Martin became a family life specialist, providing families with tools and resources to navigate challenges associated with developmental disabilities. She also assisted young adults with disabilities in transitioning to independent living as a case manager and transitional youth worker. 

Advocating for marginalized individuals, Ms. Martin has worked as a job coach and street outreach worker, empowering them to overcome barriers and achieve their goals. Her commitment to social justice extended to her role as a program manager for a nonprofit organization, where she led initiatives to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities. 

Ms. Martin's experience as a job developer connected individuals with disabilities to meaningful life opportunities, fostering financial independence and self-worth. Her extensive background and dedication drive the success of Shines Support, providing exceptional support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities. 

Ms. Martin is a member of the Women's Business Center, the Employment Collaborative of Cuyahoga County, Business Advisors of Cleveland, and the Association of People Supporting Employment. 

She holds a Master's in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Cleveland State University. In addition, Ms. Martin holds a U.S. Entrepreneurship Certification, Direct Support Professional Certification, and is a Certified Employment Support Professional. 

After 10 years of diverse experiences, Ms. Martin recognized a need for a smaller agency that deeply cares about its clients, families, and provides quality care. This realization led to the establishment of Shines Support.
